اثرات زعفران و ترکیبات آن بر سیستم ایمنی: شواهد تجربی و بالینی

چندین اثر دارویی از جمله تأثیر بر سیستم ایمنی برای زعفران یا Crocus sativus L. (C. sativus) و اجزای مختلف آن نشان داده شده است. زعفران همچنین در طب سنتی برای درمان اختلالات ایمنی و دیگر بیماری‌ها استفاده می‌شود. این فصل شواهد تجربی و بالینی از اثر ایمنی‌زایی زعفران و اجزای آن را مورد بررسی قرار می‌دهد. تأثیر زعفران و ترکیبات اصلی آن، مانند سافرانال، کروcin و کروکتین، بر ایمنی همورالی و پاسخ‌های ایمنی سلولی به عنوان اساس اثرات دارویی آنها نشان داده شده است.تأثیرات گیاه و اجزای آن بر سیتوکین‌های مختلف و سایر نشانگرهای سیستم ایمنی گزارش شده است. همچنین عدم سمیت گیاه و ترکیبات آن بر پاسخ‌های ایمنی همورال و سلولی نیز نشان داده شده است. در نتیجه، زعفران و ترکیبات آن می‌توانند به عنوان درمانی مؤثر در بیماری‌های مختلف به دلیل تأثیرات ایمنومدولاتوری خود مورد استفاده قرار گیرند.

Several pharmacological effects including the effect on the immune system were shown for saffron or Crocus sativus L. (C. sativus) and its various constituents. Saffron is also used in traditional medicine for the treatment of immune disorders and other diseases. This chapter highlights the experimental and clinical evidence of the immunomodulatory effect of saffron and its constituents. The effect of saffron and its main compounds, such as safranal, crocin, and crocetin, on humoral immunity and cell-mediated immunity responses as the bases of their medicinal effects were demonstrated. The effects of the plant and its constituent on various cytokine and other markers of the immune system were reported. The absence of toxicity of the plant and its compounds on humoral and cellular immune responses was also shown. In conclusion, saffron and its constituents could be used as an effective therapy in various diseases because of their immunomodulatory effects.
