فراتر از مرزهای اجتماعی: پرده‌برداری از گذشته در کتاب نمک و زعفران اثر کامله شمسی

مطالعه‌ی شبکه‌ی پیچیده‌ی مرزهای اجتماعی و استعاری در رمان «نمک و زعفران» بینشی درباره‌ی تبعیض‌ها و نابرابری‌هایی که بر اساس جایگاه اجتماعی-اقتصادی افراد وجود دارد، ارائه می‌دهد. تحلیل مقاومت شخصیت اصلی در برابر این تفاوت‌های اقتصادی نشان می‌دهد که چگونه این مرزها به عنوان کاتالیزوری برای شکل‌دهی به رفتار شخصیت‌ها عمل می‌کنند. مضمون نابرابری اقتصادی در عنوان رمان به طور ضمنی وجود دارد، زیرا شمسی سعی می‌کند آشکارا مضمون رمان را به نمایش بگذارد. نمک نماد طبقه‌ی پایین و زعفران نماد طبقه‌ی بالا است. آلیا، شخصیت اصلی رمان، از خانواده‌ای مرفه می‌آید که اعضای آن همچنان از تاریخ خانواده‌ی سلطنتی خود لذت می‌برند. مقاله‌ی حاضر به بررسی تضادهای طبقاتی رمان می‌پردازد و سعی می‌کند غرایز مخالف ابراز شده توسط شخصیت‌های رمان را تحلیل کند. این مقاله همچنین روابط و تعاملات شخصیت‌های رمان را بررسی می‌کند. این مقاله روشن می‌کند که چگونه هر شخصیت سعی می‌کند از مرزهای اجتماعی موجود در جامعه عبور کند.

tudying the complex web of social and metaphorical borders in Salt and Saffron provides insight into the discriminations and disparities that exist based on people’s socio-economic status. An analysis of the protagonist’s resistance to these economic differences reveals how these borders serve as a catalyst for shaping the behavior of the characters. The theme of economic disparity is implicit in the novel’s title as Shamsie tries to openly exhibit the novel’s theme. Salt stands for the lower class, whereas saffron stands for the upper class. Aliya, the protagonist of the novel, comes from an affluent family whose members keep rejoicing in their royal family history. The present paper studies the novel’s class conflicts and tries to analyze the dissenting instincts expressed by the characters in the novel. The paper also examines the relationships and interactions of the novel’s characters. It sheds light on how each character is trying to cross the social borders that exist in society.
